Ministry of Sports & TDH Refugees Empowerment Initiative
Co-led by EnviroX for Environment Development and Conservation
In a time of overlapping challenges — displacement, climate vulnerability, and economic insecurity — this project sought to create hope and opportunity through movement, mentorship, and meaningful work.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Terre des Hommes (TDH), EnviroX engaged 200 refugee youth across Greater Cairo, Alexandria, and Damietta, delivering a comprehensive intervention at the intersection of sports, climate action, and livelihood development.
Sports for Resilience & Integration:
- Designed inclusive sports activities that promoted teamwork, confidence, and well-being
- Integrated climate awareness into sports-based learning, focusing on resilience and sustainability
- Used public sports spaces to foster social integration between refugee and host communities
Key Activities:
- Delivered 10 interactive workshops blending sports with environmental education
- Integrated team-building games, storytelling, and roleplay to explore issues like:
- Water conservation
- Tree planting and green infrastructure
- Waste management and plastic reduction
- Global warming and personal responsibility
